Tara Clark is the Founder and Lead Makeup Artist at Black Lash Makeup and mother to twin girls Sadie and Patience, daughter Luca and son Finn.
She received her first qualification in makeup artistry over 20 years ago but decided after children to turn her devotion for cosmetics into her full time gig.
After 7 years of running Black Lash, and growing a team, Clark took over The Lip Lab Perth. The idea being that she would be able to provide her clients with quality custom products to compliment the education she loved to provide. The Lip Lab now looks after all event and education appointments so that Black Lash can focus on their Bridal Team offering.
Clark’s philosophy revolves around makeup that looks natural and most of all leaves you feeling like the best version of you. She believes in providing a self-indulgent experience where women can take time out for themselves.
Clark’s work has been featured on the cover of WA Wedding and Bride 5 times, as well as having written articles and featured in a number of other publications.
Clark believes that every bride has individual needs on her wedding day. Her teams’ approach is about listening to their needs and tailoring a look and package to suit them and their bridal party so they can attend their wedding feeling relaxed, confident and beautiful.
Black Lash was born out of necessity when, after having her 3 daughters via IVF, Clark unexpectedly fell pregnant with her son Finn. Facing the prospect of having 4 children under 4 years old, Clark felt it was too difficult to return to her 40+ hours a week job in the Finance industry. With makeup always a passion, Clark believed this was her opportunity to turn it into a full time career.
When Clark isn’t painting faces, she can be found driving her children to one of their many co-curricular activities or holidaying with her family in a tropical location.
